Installation
and pairing.

Complete the mechanical installation and wiring before pairing the cabin button or an existing valve remote.

Stage 1 of 5

Replace the OEM valve motors

  1. Switch off the vehicle and allow the exhaust to cool completely.
  2. Locate the factory valve motor on each side of the exhaust.
  3. Remove the three bolts from each motor using a 10 mm socket.
  4. Remove the factory valve motors.
  5. Install the supplied PB Valves motors in their place.
  6. Refit and tighten the three bolts on each motor.
  7. Check that each motor is correctly seated and securely mounted.

Route the wiring

  1. Connect the supplied wiring to both PB Valves motors.
  2. Route the wiring safely toward the vehicle’s firewall.
  3. Pass the wiring through a suitable existing firewall grommet.
  4. Run the wiring underneath the interior trim toward the boot (trunk).
  5. Keep the wiring away from hot exhaust components, sharp edges, moving parts and airbag wiring.
  6. Secure the wiring so it cannot become pinched or damaged.
  7. Plug the wiring harness into the PB Valves control box in the boot.
  8. Secure the control box in a dry location where it cannot move around.
  9. Plug the control box power lead into the vehicle’s 12-volt socket in the boot.

Install the button assembly

  1. Switch off the vehicle and disconnect the negative battery terminal.
  2. Remove the existing button assembly.
  3. Install the new PB Valves button assembly.
  4. Reconnect all original connectors.
  5. Locate an unused fuse position that receives power only when the ignition is in ACC/ON.
  6. Connect the protocol box positive wire to the empty ACC fuse position.
  7. Connect the negative wire to a suitable vehicle ground.
  8. Do not connect any other accessories to the module’s positive power connection.
  9. Secure the protocol box and wiring before reconnecting the battery.

Important Confirm the correct voltage, polarity and fuse rating before applying power. If you are unsure, have the system installed by a qualified automotive electrician.

Stage 4 of 5

Pair the button

  1. Switch the ignition to ACC/ON.
  2. Press and hold the new valve button for approximately three seconds.
  3. Release the button when the protocol box emits one beep.
  4. Press the valve remote-control button.
  5. Listen for the confirmation shown below.
  6. Test the button to confirm that the valves open and close correctly.

Pair an existing valve remote

If the vehicle already has a working valve remote, it can also be paired with the new button protocol box.

  1. Switch the ignition to ACC/ON.
  2. Press and hold the new valve button for approximately three seconds.
  3. Release the button when the protocol box emits one beep.
  4. Press the required button on the existing valve remote.
  5. Wait for the protocol box to confirm the pairing as shown below.
  6. Test both the new button and the existing remote.

Pairing unsuccessful?

Repeat the procedure and check that the remote battery is charged and all power, ground and control-box connections are secure.
